First-Round Capital Reveals Competing Strategies as Twenty-Four Franchises Enter Final Draft Phase
The Alliance High School Dynasty League completed its startup drafts with the Western Conference finishing Thursday, April 23rd moments before the NFL Draft began, and the Eastern Conference concluding Friday, April 24th shortly after 10:00 PM ET. Twenty-six rounds of veteran selections and rookie draft spot claims are now archived, and the final phase of franchise construction begins tomorrow.
The rookie draft launches Thursday, May 1st at noon ET with six-hour pick clocks and overnight pauses from midnight to 6:00 AM. The Western Conference will draft through pick 4.08, claiming 44 total rookie spots. The Eastern Conference will draft through pick 4.03, claiming 39 total rookie spots. Moreno Valley Vikings hold the first selection in the West. Massillon Tigers hold the first selection in the East.
First-round distribution reveals dramatically different franchise-building philosophies across both conferences. Ernestown Eagles accumulated four first-round picks—1.02, 1.05, 1.06, and 1.11—the largest first-round haul in either conference. Moreno Valley Vikings claimed three first-rounders at 1.01, 1.05, and 1.12. Both teams positioned themselves to select elite rookie talent while competitors chose veteran depth during the startup draft.
Other teams doubled their first-round ammunition through strategic startup draft decisions. Jasper Place Rebels hold back-to-back selections at 1.03 and 1.04 in the West. Floyd Central Highlanders own 1.06, 1.07, and 1.10 after acquiring the final pick from Xenia Buccaneers. Crisfield Crabbers claim 1.04 and 1.10 in the East. Whittier Wildcats hold 1.09 and 1.12.
The Xenia Buccaneers executed the draft's only future-focused trade, dealing their 1.10 selection and later-round picks to Floyd Central Highlanders in exchange for Floyd Central's 2027 first-round pick. Xenia retains their original 1.08 selection while adding premium capital for next year's rookie class, betting on long-term franchise construction over immediate rookie talent.
Massillon Tigers stand alone with only the 1.01 selection and no other first-round capital—a high-risk, high-reward position that demands hitting on the draft's premier prospect.
Tomorrow at noon, the 2026 NFL rookie class begins landing on AHSDL rosters. Some teams will deploy multiple premium picks. Others will make one selection count. All rookies report directly to four-player Practice Squads, where franchise-defining decisions about elevation and roster construction begin.
Two conferences. Two draft philosophies. One rookie class ready to reshape twenty-four franchises.
