WRL Shaken as Maniax Fall

WRL Shaken as Maniax Fall

Week 11 Wrap-Up

Week 11 delivered the kind of chaos that rewrites a season. The headline story came thundering out of the Cerberus Region, where the unthinkable happened: the No. 1 Maniax were toppled. Groot swung the hammer and didn’t miss, blasting the defending top seed 192–157 in a statement win that sent shockwaves through the WRL and cracked open the door at the top of the Power Rankings.

From there, the drama only intensified across the league — razor-thin finishes, massive scoring outbursts, and a Power Rankings shakeup that feels like the start of a late-season reshuffling.

Let's break it down.

Cerberus Region: The Giant Falls

The Maniax walked into Week 11 unbeaten since their lone earlier loss — and walked out dethroned. Groot didn’t just win… they detonated, posting a 35-point victory and one of their most complete performances of the season. As a bonus, that win helped springboard Groot into the Top 25 heading into a crucial double-header week.

No other Cerberus game came close to matching the magnitude of the upset, but the ripple effects echoed everywhere - especially in the Power Rankings, where the Maniax finally loosened their grip on No. 1.

Krakens Region: A .38-Point Thriller and a 200-Point Explosion

The Krakens Region delivered both the closest game and the highest score of the week.

First, the heart-stopper: the Lunatics edged the Lewisville Sluggers 122.94-122.56, winning by a microscopic 0.38 points — the closest finish in the entire WRL this week. Every yard, every catch, every kicker point mattered.

Then came the fireworks.

The Virginia Blackbeards blew the doors off the week, putting up 207 points, the only team to cross the 200 mark in Week 11. Their 207-153 victory over Garbage Points wasn't just dominant - it launched them into the Top 5 and reestablished them as a legitimate postseason threat.

Loch Ness Region: Monsters Take the Throne

With the Maniax falling, THE Ohio River Monsters made sure there was no doubt about who deserved No. 1. Their 189-107 dismantling of E-Thugs was a complete team performance - efficient, balanced, and convincing.

It wasn't just a win. It was a statement, and the Power Rankings recognized it.

The Monsters now stand alone at the top.

Red Dragons Region: Unicorn Legends Keep Breathing Fire

For the second straight week, the Unicorn Legends owned the Red Dragons Region - and once again posted one of the league’s highest totals. Their 194-171 victory over the Crayon Crusaders showcased the same explosive offense they've ridden all season.

With the win, the Legends held firmly at No. 3 in the Power Rankings and continued their steady ascent toward elite-tier status. If the top two slip again, the Legends are next in line to climb.

Week 11 Power Rankings Shakeup

This week didn't just shift the top - it reshaped the entire Top 10.

1. THE Ohio River Monsters (↑ from 2)
A massive win paired with the Maniax loss vaults the Monsters into the top spot. Their Power Ranking rises again, and they finally claim the throne.

2. Maniax (↓ from 1)
The stunning loss to Groot sends them sliding one spot. Their season isn’t derailed — but the armor definitely cracked this week.

3. Unicorn Legends (—)
Hold steady at 3. Their Power Ranking ticks upward by .004, further cementing their claim as the league’s most consistent contender.

4. Monarchs (—)
Still fourth, though a quieter week drops their Power Ranking slightly by .009. They’re stable, but Week 12 will test them.

5. Virginia Blackbeards (↑ from 8)
The jump of the week. A 207-point eruption launches them back into contention and into the Top 5.

6. Music City Miracles (↓ from 5)
Their Power Ranking improves… but the math drops them one spot. Still firmly in the mix.

7. Teds Lasso (↓ from 6)
Slight slide and a noticeable dip in their Power Ranking. A team trending sideways at the wrong time of year.

8. Lunatics (↑ from 9)
The heart-stopping win in the Krakens Region nudges them upward. The 2023 champs are starting to heat up.

9. Terrifiers (↑ from 11)
Finally break into the single digits for the first time all season. Momentum is real.

10. CHAOS (↓ from 7)
A familiar landing spot. After slipping three spots, they find themselves once again sitting at No. 10 — a perch they know all too well.

Week 12 Preview: Doubleheader Madness Begins

The most consequential week of the regular season is here.

Week 12 is Doubleheader Week — every team faces two opponents at the same time, one inside the division and one outside. Records will swing wildly. Playoff hopes will rise and fall in hours, not days.

Teams will finish the week 2–0, 1–1, or 0–2, and the playoff picture could be unrecognizable by Tuesday morning.
