Maniax Madness: A New #1 Emerges

The WRL Power Rankings got their first real jolt of the 2025 season as the Epidemic Elephants were finally brought down, opening the door for a new No. 1. Four weeks in, we’ve got a fresh king of the hill, an undefeated duo climbing fast, and a couple of old champs still trying to find their footing.

1. Maniax (↑ from 2)
The Maniax seized their moment. With the Elephants stumbling, they took care of business and are now the WRL’s top dog. At 4–0 with the league’s best all-play record, they’ve got swagger to match their record.

2. Mantis Mayhem (↑ from 3)
Still perfect, still scary. The Mayhem are putting up consistent points every week and look like they’ve built a roster that won’t blink no matter the opponent. They’re the quiet undefeated team nobody wants to face.

3. Music City Miracles (↑ from 4)
Momentum, meet Music City. The Miracles keep stacking wins and now find themselves right behind the Mayhem. They’re not flashy, but 4–0 speaks louder than style points.

4. Epidemic Elephants (↓ from 1)
The WRL’s early wrecking ball finally hit resistance. After two weeks of posting monster totals, the Elephants were run over by Turd Ferguson in the league’s highest-scoring game of the season. Don’t let the slip fool you—they’re still a title threat, but no longer untouchable.

5. Turd Ferguson (NEW in Top 5)
Dropping 213 points will turn heads. Turd Ferguson made a statement with their win over the Elephants, vaulting themselves into the Top 5. If they keep lighting up the scoreboard like that, expect them to hang around the playoff conversation.

6. Unicorn Legends
Unicorns don’t just sparkle, they score. A steady climb keeps them in striking distance of the Top 5.

7. THE Ohio River Monsters
Capital letters, capital W’s. The River Monsters are quietly carving out a solid season and making the Fog Division sweat.

8. War Birds
Fresh off a nail-biting win, the War Birds remain a steady presence in the Top 10. They’re not soaring yet, but they’re keeping pace with the WRL’s best.

9. Monarchs
Another week, another crown jewel performance. Their 200-point outing in Week 4 proves they’re more than capable of running with the big boys.

10. Mad Scientist & Virginia Blackbeards (TIE)
The Scientist cooked up a 200+ point blowout last week, while the Blackbeards keep finding ways to stay relevant. For now, they share the last spot in the Top 10.

Notables

The past two champions are searching for answers. Teds Lasso, last year’s champ, sits all the way at 16th. The 2023 winner, the Lunatics, isn’t much better at 17th. With four weeks gone, the champs are in danger of being forgotten in the new WRL order.

Week 4 proved that no team is invincible. And if Turd Ferguson’s fireworks show was a preview of what’s to come, the Power Rankings may look very different again in just seven days.
