There’s a new top dog in the APBL.

The New York Yankees have climbed to the No. 1 spot in this week’s Power Rankings after another dominant showing and is leading the league in total points (2,241) and all-play win percentage (0.857). With a perfect 5-0 record in League play and the highest power rating (0.929), the Yankees now sit alone atop the rankings.

Right behind them, the Atlanta Braves have surged back to No. 2 following their 104-point thrashing of the Cubs. Atlanta climbed one spot from last week, looking every bit like a title contender again.

Meanwhile, the Reds stumbled this week and dropped two spots to a tie for 3rd after a 55-point loss to the Orioles. They’re now knotted with the Texas Rangers, who jumped one spot after a solid win over the White Sox and are quickly becoming one of the league’s most balanced teams.

The Angels made the biggest leap this week, vaulting from No. 8 to No. 5 after a decisive 100-point win over the struggling Red Sox. Behind them, the Cardinals jumped one spot to 6th, riding the momentum of a 122-point blowout of Cleveland — the largest margin of the week.

Despite eking out a 22-point win over last year’s champs, the Blue Jays slipped two spots to 7th, as their underlying metrics continue to raise questions. The Tigers also fell, dropping from 6th to 8th after a 117-point loss to the Yankees.

The Orioles made a nice two-spot climb to 9th after upsetting the Reds, but questions remain about their staying power with a low point total (1,619). The Cubs, Giants, and White Sox all slid in the bottom half, while the Red Sox are still in search of their first win and dropped to 13th.

At the bottom, the Cleveland Guardians continue to struggle on both ends of the stat sheet. After getting steamrolled by the Cardinals, they remain anchored at No. 14 with the lowest power rating in the league (0.095).
