By the time the Gold Dragon Region stepped into its Draft Order Gauntlet on Monday night, the other two regions had already shown just how unpredictable the process could become. Red Dragon had endured one of the longest and most punishing Gauntlets in FSA history, while Black Dragon survived a relatively smoother run before seeing its entire board flipped on the final roll. Gold Dragon would ultimately carve out its own personality somewhere between those two extremes, producing a Gauntlet that featured plenty of movement, a late-arriving Snake Eyes, a few teams seemingly hiding in the hat, and one final twist that changed half of the board before the order became official.
The night began with the Unicorn Legends becoming the first Gold Dragon team placed on the board. They opened in the No. 3 position, but their early journey quickly became a tour of the draft board as they moved to No. 4, returned to No. 3, and eventually found themselves all the way down in the tenth position. Totally Turtley later joined the action by landing in that same No. 3 spot where the Unicorn Legends had originally begun, while the Rochester Rabbits, NY Jackets, Average Joes, Mantis Mayhem, and Gridiron Grinders gradually joined them as the board continued to take shape.
For a while, Gold Dragon seemed content to avoid the complete chaos that had defined parts of the Red Dragon Gauntlet. Teams were moving, positions were changing, and the usual action-roll unpredictability was present, but the board continued filling. Then, at the 33-minute mark, the dice finally produced the result everyone watching a Draft Gauntlet learns to love.
Snake Eyes cleared the board.
At that point, seven teams had already established positions, and all of that work disappeared in a single roll. The Unicorn Legends, Totally Turtley, Rochester Rabbits, NY Jackets, Average Joes, Mantis Mayhem, and Gridiron Grinders were removed at once, forcing Gold Dragon to begin again much later in the broadcast than either side probably wanted. After the reset, The Lone Rangers became the first team pulled from the hat and returned the Gauntlet to life by landing in the No. 10 position.
From there, the Gold Dragon board began rebuilding toward completion, but the hat provided one of the funnier moments of the evening as the final placements approached. With only three open positions remaining, exactly three team logos were still inside the hat: Fast Johnnie Syndicate, Southern Sirens, and CHAOS. None of the three had appeared on the board at any point during the entire Gauntlet. After watching almost every other team experience movement, replacement, or removal, their continued absence became noticeable enough to create a new question: had their logos actually been put in the hat at all?
They had. They were simply committed to making everyone wonder.
Once those final three teams finally emerged and the board reached twelve, the Gold Dragon Region was ready for the last 2d4 roll of its Gauntlet. The dice produced a six, triggering the “Flip a Row” action, which meant one more d12 roll would determine whether the top or bottom half of the board would reverse. The result selected the bottom row, turning positions seven through twelve upside down while leaving the top six untouched.
That final action created the official Gold Dragon draft order.
The Gridiron Grinders emerged with the No. 1 selection, followed by the Rochester Rabbits at No. 2 and Average Joes at No. 3. Fast Johnnie Syndicate, one of the final three teams hiding in the hat, finished fourth, with Totally Turtley fifth and the Unicorn Legends sixth. After beginning the entire Gauntlet at No. 3, moving repeatedly, surviving the late Snake Eyes reset, and working their way back onto the board, the Unicorn Legends ultimately landed at the back end of the top half.
The bottom row belonged to the final flip. Crayon Crusaders finished seventh, Mantis Mayhem eighth, and CHAOS ninth. The Lone Rangers, who had been the first team placed after the 33-minute Snake Eyes reset, landed tenth, while Southern Sirens finished eleventh and the NY Jackets completed the order at No. 12.

Three Dragons, Three Different Gauntlets
With Gold Dragon complete, all three WRL regions now know how they will approach their respective 2026 drafts. What stands out after watching all three Gauntlets is how differently each region reached that point. Red Dragon turned into a marathon of removals, replacements, and a complete restart before finally surviving one of the longest Gauntlets FSA has seen. Black Dragon moved more efficiently after an early Snake Eyes, only to have its entire order reversed by the final roll. Gold Dragon waited until 33 minutes had passed before Snake Eyes erased a heavily populated board, then rebuilt only to have the bottom six positions flipped at the finish.
The Gold Dragon Region also enters draft season with a personality that already feels distinct from its counterparts. All four female members of the WRL landed in this region during the Wheel of Fate selections, and now the Gauntlet has added another layer to that story. Unicorn Legends will draft sixth, Totally Turtley fifth, Crayon Crusaders seventh, and Southern Sirens eleventh, scattering those four teams across nearly the entire board and ensuring their paths through the opening round will look very different.
The order is now settled, but as the previous two regions have already reminded everyone, draft position is only an opportunity. The Gridiron Grinders will have the first shot at the Gold Dragon player pool, while the NY Jackets will own the turn and immediately begin Round 2. Every position between them carries its own advantages, tradeoffs, and possibilities once sixteen rounds of a snake draft begin reshaping these teams for real.
For now, though, Gold Dragon has done exactly what its motto demands.
The hoard has been guarded, the order has been claimed, and all three Dragons are finally ready to draft.
